When it comes to tradie trailers the choices are endless. We don't get a box trailer and bolt a canopy on top at Frontline we build completely sealed and purpose built tradesman trailers that are water resistant with no pre assembled or imported standard sizing boxes that makes it near on impossible to get a tradie trailer that works for you. That canopy divide is 5mm too narrow? Well with Frontline this is never an issue!
Here at Frontline Trailers each tradie trailer is built from the ground up to make your day easier. One fabricator will build your trailer from start to finish. You even get to chat with the fabricator directly so there is no miscommunication when designing your new trailer. We even encourage customers to drop by with their tools to make sure their new trailer is going to fit in everything properly.
We start with only Australian steel add in premium suspension systems from Trailparts then build it to your exact needs. Before we paint the trailer we will invite you down to take a look, bring your tools and make sure it's going to work for you before we move onto the next step. After paint we will fit out all your accessories selected and call you in to collect your new trailer.
So why do we not have a standard tradie trailer offering like most other trailer builders?
It's pretty simple really Some guys need extra space at the front for a large generator. Some need a small canopy at the front fitted with Enerdrive 12V systems to keep their tools charged all day long, some need customised shelving solutions to fit a variety of tools they use daily. We design the layout so you don't need to go digging through your trailer looking for a specific tool. In the past we built a specialised concrete polishing contractor's trailer which fit their generator, 2 polishing units and all the tools to go with it...on one trailer! Word quickly got out and we had orders for 10 more. Did we build the next ones the same as the first? Nope none of them were the same as each client had different needs. One wanted a lowering roof as the height needed to fit in his low garage. One wanted his full width so he could get more in the rear and so forth.
The upgrades are endless, Want Dirty life rims and BF Goodrich tyres? We can do that. Independent suspension? Not a problem! Full 12V with kitchen? yep we do that too.

Iv'e given you a couple of examples of what we can do but you are still wondering what you need? First have a think about what you are doing on a daily basis. Most Trailers for Plumbers need roof racks to store long lengths of pipe for example where as an electrician may need more shelving space for a variety of electrical parts that is used on the job? If you are a bricklayer or tiler do you throw a tonne of product in the bottom of the trailer at the start of your day?
You know what we can do, Now you are still thinking about what you need!
The first real question you should ask is how much does everything weigh? then add 850kg for the weight of the trailer and this will give you the GVM you need. Our most popular tradie trailers are built with either a 2000kg, 2800kg or 3200kg GVM however we can do them with Lower or higher GVM's if you need.
From there you should be thinking about the suspension system. Our trailers come fitted with standard rocker roller suspension which is a great all round suspension. If you are going to be going on rough terrain constantly or want to have a more maintenance free suspension we can also fit Torsion axles or cruise master independent suspensions.
Setting up your trailer to work for you and your trade
Doesn't matter if you are a plumber, Electrician, Builder, Bricklayer, concreter, cabinet maker or landscaper our fully customised trailers can be built to suit your needs.
First think about what you already own and is it currently organised? If it isn't I recommend we start from scratch and zone the trailer out into the following zones. Tools you need on every job, Tools you sometimes need, Stock you need to carry and large items that need a home on the trailer. Your tools you constantly use we should fit on one side of the trailer and design a custom shelving system so each tool has a home and it never takes you more than a few seconds to find the tool for the job. Tools you only need every now and then can go in this space too but if you are starting to run short on space you should consider a rear pull out drawer to place these tools in. They're still in the trailer but they are stored away making sure it's not cluttered.
The rear opening door I recommend a shelving system that organises all the small stock items. Think nails, screws nuts and bolts, electrical components, so if you need to grab some stock you open the door and you know exactly where it is.
The next zone I would look at keeping this free to place larger stock items like rolls of copper, lengths of timber or bags of cement etc.
Think about the length of product you need to carry. If you're constantly carrying around long lengths of material you should consider a roof Rack on top.
Do you also need a large space to fit an air compressor or do you want to have a kitchen area so you're not always ducking down to the smoko shop? Then we can add a front canopy to fit a variety of uses.
So what is the best size for me?
Once you have figured out all the details above we can think about the size of the trailer. Most tradesman trailers we build are an 8x5 But if you think you need some more room we can go to a 10x5. 95% of our customers choose one of those 2 sizes, we can do them any other size to suit your needs.
Braking and Security
Our trailers come standard with electric brakes for quite a few reasons. Firstly if you go with any other braking system they are more expensive (Around $400 more) and the only reason you would go with hydraulic or mechanical brakes is to save on fitting an electric brake controller to your vehicle. Fitting a brake controller costs around $700 so we recommend fitting the brake controller. The only time we think it is worth considering going with another braking system is if you have a fleet of vehicles all sharing the same trailer and none of the vehicles have electric brake controllers.
The other added benefit is we can easily add anti theft security systems fitted to trailers with electric brakes. Think about the money you will have sitting in your trailer and think about what would happen if you woke up one morning to see your trailer gone. We can fit systems that sound alarms if someone tries to break into them and will lock the brakes on if someone tries to tow them away.

What type of suspension do you offer on your trailers?
We only use Trailparts rocker roller suspension systems as standard all trailers 3.2T GVM and over are also fitted with fully sealed maintenance free bearing sets as standard with upgrades available to torsion axle independent suspension systems to give your trailer a better ride that requires less maintenance than rocker roller sets. Trailparts offer a country wide dealer network and Aussie made axles. We also fit Cruisemaster independent coil/airbag suspensions.
Can you add in 12V systems, Kitchens and Fridges?
Yes we can spec your tradie trailer with professional grade 12V equipment from Enerdrive, In house kitchens and a range of fridges from Dometic or Bushman's. Like our trailers our 12V systems are fully customisable to meet your needs. If you only need to keep a couple of batteries charged up during the day to a fully off grid system that won't let you down when you're out bush on the job site we have the system to suit.
What colour can you get Frontline Tradie Trailers in?
If you can dream it we can match the colour. Our trailers come standard with our Aussie made Frontline Hammertone black. We can 2 pac paint and colour match to almost anything or source any powder coat colour to give your trailer a durable finish.
